Hundreds of workers are injured each year due to scaffold related incidents, and in extreme cases there have been fatalities as a result of the scaffold collapsing.
As we watched the increase of injuries year on year we realised that there was no product on the market that could monitor and protect workers from critical scaffold failures. and we wanted to change that.
Upon realising this, IQM Systems set out to fix this issue by creating the scaffolding Safe-T Device System, an integrated ‘smart’ solution that combines technology with safety.
After months of research and problem solving, prototype after prototype we have developed a solution that focuses on the riskiest behaviour, being the unauthorised removal of wall tie attachments.
The system works through the wireless connection of many devices continuously communicating with one another, providing feedback to the Safe-T Device dashboard.
Sensors are attached to wall ties and couplers that when tampered with, removed, or disturbed abnormally triggers a message in the safe-t device that is transmitted to the dashboard, sending alert messages in app, and via email and text.
The Safe-T System is going to save lives, increase employee safety, reduce risk of accidents and has the potential to reduce Workers Comp claims, win more tenders due to operating a safe site, and it is simple to use.
